The National Awareness Partners (NAP) Network

Created under IMPACT with a view to strengthening the demand for electronic information, the National Awareness Partners network is a dedicated network of organisations throughout the European Economic Area. The network provides training, information and knowledge on the role that electronic information services can play for SMEs, libraries and the further and higher education sectors, showing how their businesses and activities can benefit.

The NAP network has been operational since September 1992 and now comprises 30 organisations in 17 countries AustriaBelgium,DenmarkFinlandFranceGermanyGreeceIcelandIrelandItalyLuxembourgNorwayNetherlandsPortugalSpainSweden andThe United Kingdom. The network is supported by a Central Support Team (CST) in Luxembourg.

The individual NAPs are well established organisations with proven credibility. Their expertise in the field of electronic information, their knowledge of the national information market and their access to relevant professionals are beneficial to organisations requiring advice and support at the competitive edge of advanced information services. NAPs also provide access to other EU and national networks and initiatives (e.g. Innovation Relay Centres, BC-Net, Euro Info Centres, UETPs for the COMETT programme, Focal Points for theLibraries programme)
