What is INCORE?
INCORE WHAT IS INCORE?
INCORE was set up by a group of European organisations with a common interest in industry self-regulation and rating of Internet content. It is now focused on a project which aims to create a generic rating and filtering system suitable for European users. This is being funded by the European Commission in 1999.
There has been increasing concern across Europe over the accessibility of potentially harmful material found on the Internet. This ranges from child pornography to racism and other 'adult' material. INCORE will look at how access can be controlled by users, allowing them to retain the ultimate decision over what is seen, particularly where children are concerned.
